About Farflung
Farflung is a browser geography game released on October 21, 2026. It runs on desktop, phones, and tablets with HTML5 (Unity WebGL). Each expedition has five clues. Read one, search the world map, and choose a country that fits.
Finding a valid country is not enough for a high score. An easy country may score less, while an answer that fewer players consider can travel much farther. This small rule changes the way each clue feels.
Challenge Yourself with World Map Trivia
Some clues have several possible countries. A common answer can give 40 km, while the rarest choice is worth 100 km. So clicking the first correct country is not always the best move.
Before dropping a pin, think of two or three possibilities. Smaller nations and less familiar places are worth considering. There is some GeoGuessr-style map searching involved, but Farflung relies more on geography knowledge than visual detective work.

Know What Counts
There is only one attempt per clue. A correct country earns 40, 55, 70, 85, or 100 km depending on rarity. A wrong answer, skipped question, or timeout gives 0 km. Reaching 500 km means finding a rarest-tier answer in all five rounds.
Controls
PC
Mouse: Move around and zoom the map.
Left click: Choose countries and buttons.
Keyboard: Enter a country name in the search box.
Mobile
Drag: Move across the world map.
Pinch: Zoom in or out.
Tap: Pick a country and submit the answer.
Look Past the Easy Answer
Do not rush when a familiar country fits the clue. Pause and consider whether a smaller or less expected nation also works. That choice can be the difference between 40 km and 100 km.
After each round, look through the other valid answers as well. Countries that seem easy to miss at first can become useful options later. A few expeditions quickly turn Farflung from a simple geography quiz into a game of knowledge, memory, and smart choices.
