Merge Infinity presents you with a silent grid filled with numbers that are constantly changing. You can either use your finger or mouse to slide matching tiles together and give them stronger values. The pace remains uncomplicated, yet it will be apparent that every single drag has an impact on the whole arrangement. This puzzle is persistent in grabbing your attention through constant moves, quick turns, and a feeling of being in control of your own speed.
Game Mechanics
The game starts with tiles placed randomly on the board. You can connect the matching numbers with a line in any of the eight directions. When the line is completed, the tiles will be merged into the next higher value, and new tiles will appear from above to occupy the empty spots.
The process goes on and on:
- Spot numbers that are the same.
- Draw a continuous line through the tiles of your choice for merging.
- Get new tiles dropped as the last step.
A small chain lifts quickly. A large chain feels like you are expanding the grid and tying it back together. The board gets sometimes more open, sometimes less immediately. You can go from an easy 4-chain to an 8-merge, and then stop because there are no more 16s near. You have to read the grid and respond before it becomes too tight.
There are some versions where you can drag blocks instead of lines. This is a lighter version of the Number Combine Game, but it is still of the same essence: making room, keeping the layout open, and constantly increasing the value.
Suggestions for Enhanced Streaks
Try to adopt these three habits to make your board more robust:
- Keep the bottom edge free: The bottom being unstuck can lead to longer chains.
- Do not hurry to merge all: Wait for a few turns to gather several identical numbers at once. This prolongs the chain and elevates the score.
- Give preference to spots with escapes: Try to foresee two or three steps ahead. The wrong way can shrink the board too fast.
- Deal with high numbers first: When a big tile is alone, move or merge the nearby tiles to create a way.
Merge Infinity has a laid-back atmosphere. You can play it for a couple of minutes, make a few lines, and quit anytime. It’s a game for those who enjoy light logic, fast actions, and simple, easy-to-follow number sequences.
