About Pips NYT

Pips NYT was just released on August 18, 2025, adding to the game collection of The New York Times Games. If you are familiar with Wordle or Connections, Pips will bring a completely different experience: not words, but dominoes with numbers and logic rules. Your job is to drag and drop the dominoes onto the board and arrange them correctly according to the conditions of each area. It sounds simple, but the more you play, the more "brain-twisting".

Why is Pips NYT worth trying?

  • The obvious difference: not revolving around vocabulary but focusing on numbers and logical thinking.
  • No time pressure: you solve at your own pace, no countdown timer.
  • Each level is edited by hand: designed by NYT editors, not random AI.
  • The feeling of "matching" is extremely satisfying: like when you fill in the last box in Sudoku.

How to play Pips NYT online

  • Access the game: Go to https://thatsnot-myneighbor.io/ and click Play Game.

  • Choose a difficulty:

    • Easy – fewer domino tiles, perfect for beginners.

    • Medium – a balanced level of challenge.

    • Harder – more tiles and more complex rules.

  • Read the board symbols: Each region has its condition, such as equal, different, greater/less than, or matching sums.

  • Drag and drop dominoes: Place tiles on the grid and rotate them to fit correctly.

  • Check as you go: If a move doesn’t work, reposition the tile or use the Undo/Redo buttons.

  • Complete the puzzle: Once all conditions are satisfied and the grid is full, you win the game.
